FUEL Cabin @ St. Lucia

核心問題

  1. 1 The sustainability of the current tourism industry is still in its early stages, especially in island countries like St. Lucia which lack raw materials. Despite tourism being a major local industry and a continuous increase in the number of visitors, the tourism industry of St. Lucia still faces issues such as rigid and monotonous accommodation types, lack of environmental resilience in infrastructure, and inconsistent travel experiences.
  2. 2 Even with the investment of international hotels, the level of innovation in St. Lucia’s tourism industry is still limited, and large-scale construction and development often result in more severe environmental damage to the land.
  3. 3 Additionally, St. Lucia lacks the resources to integrate local networks and enhance residents' awareness of sustainability, leading to a low momentum in developing sustainable tourism.

創新行動

  1. 1/ This project revolves around the core theme of "sustainability" and selects our diplomatic ally country "St. Lucia" as the first Pan-American experimental demonstration site, hopefully could expand to other countries such as Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and even the Pan-American market in the future. The project has two main objectives.
  2. 2/ Promote the innovative sustainable housing, the "FUEL Cabin," for implementation in different countries and regions. This product combines design aesthetics with a patented infrastructure adaptable to diverse environmental landscapes. It uses wood with carbon-sequestering effects as building material and employs precast construction and dry assembly technologies. The FUEL Cabin offers a modular, easy-to-assemble/disassemble/move tiny wooden house as an upgraded solution for tourism accommodation, enhancing the innovation and environmental resilience of hotel architecture.
  3. 3/ Based on rich experience in local revitalization and sustainable tourism execution, our team aims to develop ecological tourism solutions starting from the first FUEL Cabin site in St. Lucia. The goal is to establish an ecological tourism model with training system, assisting sites with FUEL Cabin to develop travel characteristics pointing out their local diversity.
